MedSummit is committed to ensuring that every motivated student — regardless of where they live or their financial circumstances — has the opportunity to access world-class medical preparation. Scholarships are available for students from geographical, social or financial disadvantage, including students from rural, remote and regional Australia, and those travelling from interstate.
If you are studying or living outside a major city, we want to hear from you. We actively encourage applications from students in rural and remote communities. The students most likely to return to rural communities as doctors are the ones who grew up there. That journey deserves every advantage MedSummit can offer.
Distance should not determine destiny. That is why our scholarship program exists, and why we make it as straightforward as possible to apply.
“My family stayed nearby in case I needed anything. The fact that they could do that — and I could still fully commit to the program — made the whole trip work for us.”
— Rural student, Melbourne
Melbourne rewards the trip at any time of year!
The start of year program runs during the Australian Open, when the city is buzzing with summer energy, world-class tennis and incredible dining. The mid year program brings a different Melbourne: July is the city's cultural peak, with major exhibitions, live theatre and a food scene that thrives in the cooler months.
Either way, families travelling from interstate or regional Australia will find plenty to enjoy while their student is in the program. Your student gains four transformative days. Your family gains Melbourne at its best!
